DHAKA (Reuters) - Bangladesh aims to build 1,000 megawatts of power capacity in the next 18 months for about $1 billion.
"By the time we leave power to an elected government, we also want to ensure the country generates at least 3,000 MW of extra power to meet demand."
The government's energy adviser, Tapan Chowdhury, said the plan was to build another 2,000 MW after the turn of the decade.
