Human rights and Taslima

How does one prevent party politics from hijacking human rights?

Her autobiography ran into some legal trouble in India in 2004 because it was considered "sexually disturbing" and she was accused of tarnishing the image of living individuals – to which she famously replied, if she had ‘tarnished’ any person’s image it was her own.
