Bangladesh will continue to give up to 500 million taka ($7.3 million) in subsidies a month to the country's ailing electricity-sector, a senior official has said.
"We did send the proposal to the government to enhance power tariffs to reach a break-even point, but it was not approved considering the present sufferings of common people," A. S. M. Bazlul Haque, a director of the PDB, told Reuters.
