The World Food Program has assured Bangladesh, it will take immediate-steps to assist Bangladesh in procuring 500,000 tons of rice, as the country faces a impending & severe food-deficit.
The assurances were made by representatives of the United Nations during a meeting with the foreign affairs adviser Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury.
After the meeting, Manoj Basnyat of UNDP told reporters that they have reviewed the possibility of a procurement-procedure.
