The electoral commission in Bangladesh is due to submit a proposal to the interim administration to separate its proceedings from the prime minister's office (PMO).
Election Commissioner M Sohul Hussain recently advised reporters in Dhaka about a proposal being finalised, to be submitted to the chief advisor for consideration.
According to Mr. Hussain, the legal department of the EC Secretariat has been asked to prepare a draft proposal, to separate the commission from the PMO.
